Noteworthy Achievements

Attitude Hospitality Management Limited (Mauritius): Golder played a pivotal role in advising on the acquisition of Matemwe Bungalows (Zaswi) Limited, a hotel based in Zanzibar, by Attitude Hospitality Management Limited, a Mauritian hospitality group. The transaction value exceeded TZS 6 billion and involved complex due diligence, negotiations, and regulatory compliance.

Sanlam Investment East Africa Limited (Kenya): As lead legal advisor, Golder guided Sanlam Investment East Africa Limited in establishing a Collective Investment Scheme in Tanzania Sanlam Unit Trust Fund successfully obtaining approval from the Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA).

Danish Embassy – Tanzania: Golder provided comprehensive legal support to the Danish Embassy in Tanzania during the procurement and acquisition of four landed properties valued at a combined USD 17.3 million. His role included due diligence on bidders, contract negotiations, drafting and review of transactional documents, and overseeing the entire transfer and registration process.

Emma Bay Company Limited & Polish Investors: Golder advised Polish companies Kap In Spolka and Lomm Nieruchomosci Spolka on the acquisition of multiple hospitality assets in Zanzibar, including Emma Bay (SMC-Private) Limited, Short Palms Hotel, and several parcels of land.

Gomba City Project – Arusha: Golder is an integral member of the management and legal team for the Gomba City Project, a landmark 2,000-acre satellite city development in Arusha. His involvement includes conveyancing, regulatory coordination, and government relations for this large-scale urban development initiative.

Konnectt Wires & Cables Limited (Under Receivership): Golder has acted as legal advisor to the Receiver Manager in the recovery of over TZS 8.5 billion through receivership proceedings involving Konnectt Wires & Cables Limited in Dar es Salaam. The project is currently at its final stage.

Beyond Legal Expertise
Golder actively contributes to legal development and professional inclusion beyond his transactional work:

• Law Reform Commission of Tanzania: He provided research input and policy recommendations during the review of the Companies Act, Cap. 212, and the Business Names Act, identifying legal and practical challenges affecting their implementation. This engagement was conducted at the request of the Registrar of Companies on 20 November 2023.
• Tanganyika Law Society (Members with Disabilities Committee): Golder previously served as a member of the TLS Members with Disabilities (MWD) Committee, contributing to initiatives aimed at promoting inclusivity and addressing the unique challenges faced by advocates with disabilities across Tanzania.
