With an experienced team, Breakthrough Attorneys provides comprehensive legal and consultancy service with regards to the establishment and management of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) both local and international, which seek to operate in Tanzania. Our team has vast experience in providing similar services to Associations, Clubs, Trusts and Societies.

Our legal services range from the establishment of NGOs, Trusts, and Societies, drafting, revisiting, and updating constitutions and by-laws, immigration and work permit issues, employment, and labour relations, taxation matters which require incise expertise, as well as post-registration compliance issues including filing of returns, funding regulations, office bearers requirements etc. We keep ourselves and our clients abreast with developments of law in the NGOs and civil societies sector and ensure that our clients are well informed with such developments via regular publications of bulletins, articles, and newsletters.

We specifically represent our NGO and Societies clients in obtaining Certificates of Registration for both Local and International NGOs; work permits and resident permits for foreign employees and volunteers; providing updates on changes of the law; labour relations and compliance issues; assisting in compliance and regulatory matters after the process of registration; representing and advocacy on behalf our clients;  advising and assisting on tax-related issues to NGOs, exemption, and applications for charitable status for tax purposes. In association with our Litigation Department, we have handled multiple cases involving taxation of trusts, taxation of NGOs and the question of charitable status and NGOs tax exemption in Tanzania.

We have experience in assisting Societies and Associations in the incorporation of their respective Boards of Trustees to acquire the status of corporate bodies.
